A big issue for many sales professionals is their own personal and professional development. Today I'm making an hour to listen to a webinar on "Filling Your Sales Pipeline" - why? I want to hear how it is presented. I want to gain ideas for my own webinars, and I may learn something in the process.
I carve out time in my Outlook for professional development in the same way I block out time for myself and those special people in my life (remember them? - spouse, kids, best friends....)
The question is not whether you have work/life balance (that's another discussion for another time) - but when you invest in developing personally and professionally you continue to grow and prosper.
Steven Covey calls it "sharpening the saw" - whatever you call it - assess yourself on how you are doing it.
