Poem for Sales Professionals

here is a great poem in "Seuss-like" style (my kind of poem!) on a great blog by Jill Konrath. I couldn't agree more with what she's saying, and it's fun to read or post. It begins...

The Buyer's Lament

What do customers from big companies really think about
people who sell? In "The Buyer's Lament" you'll learn exactly
how they feel! And Dr. Suess would love to read it too!

Don’t waste my time, please go away
I will not meet with you today.
My firm is big with lots to spend,
On my approval you must depend.

You call me up, you want to sell
But all you do is tell, tell, tell.
Talking about your product or service
Is guaranteed to make me nervous.

I do not want to hear your spiel.
I will not play let’s make a deal.
Want to capture my attention?
Take your sales to a new dimension?

Here is the question I ask - What are you doing ACTIVELY to educate and re-educate yourself about your clients and probable clients?
