Hone Your Sales Skills

here is a quick read from Shamus Brown on "Seven Sales Skills To Improve On" - I couldn't agree more - especially with skills #1 and #6. Don't try to "close" people -- instead, talk enthusiastically about the services you provide (or goods you offer) and based on the value that you articulate, some people will naturally want what you offer and will agree to work with you. Call it "selling" -- call it "closing" -- but it is really about being passionate about your ability to solve other's problems and show them a brighter future.

I never "close" people - I learn about what their challenges are, and offer ways to help them. While I am learning about them, I am seeing if they have a higher probability of working with me and I feel I can be of value.
