Day 5 of Ten Days To Your Best Q4 - You Know Yourself?

Day 5 - Invest in Yourself!

Today I'm attending two live Brian Tracy sessions. Although I've seen Brian before, I am always in awe of someone so successful in the sales coaching and training field - and know I can pick up a new idea.

On Brian's website, he has a list of all-time favorite business books - and this preface:

You should read one to two hours per day in non fiction books and magazines that challenge your mind and keep you open to new things. This will translate into one book per week or 50 books per year. At this rate, you will become one of the smartest and most knowledgeable people in your field in a very short period of time.

Reading is to the mind as exercise is to the body. The more active your mind, the more energy you have. Dedicate yourself to life long learning. Challenge your mind with new subjects. Make your mind work, the way you would work a muscle by studying, learning and growing all the time.

Since I read a few business books per month, Brian's advice is right up my alley. I'm absolutely convinced that reading what others are doing WILL help you be more creative, open-minded, and more of a problem solver in selling.

Your Turn – Read something new

Take a look at magazines that you don’t normally read – try the library, or flip through a couple at Barnes & Noble – Selling Power; Fast Company; Harvard Business Review; or others that relate to psychology, communication, or business.

Begin your book list of books you plan to read.
While you're at it, why not crack open one of those books?
